This book traces the lives of William Jenkins, a convict who arrived in Australia in 1827, aged 20 years, and his wife Eliza Tully alias Carr, also a convict who arrived in Australia in 1836, aged 16 years.

William and Eliza married at St. James Church Sydney, NSW on 2.10.1838.

Their first child William was born in 1839 in Burwood and their second child Thomas was born in 1840 in Burwood then the family moved to The Oaks near Picton, NSW.

Twelve more children were born, Sarah Jane 1842, John 1843, Eliza 1845, Lavinia 1847, Martha 1849, Ann Maria 1851, Jane Isabella 1852, Eleanor Catherine 1855, Robert Augustus 1857, Jacob George 1859, James Albert 1860 and Mary Elizabeth 1862.

All these children lived to adulthood which was quite unusual for the times.

William and Eliza were pioneers of the Picton/Camden district.

William was accidently killed on 9th November 1875 aged 68 years when he fell from his cart and dislocated his neck. Eliza died on 9th April 1902 aged 82 years from senile decay at her daughter’s residence at Greendale. Eliza was one of the oldest residents of the Camden district.

Detailed family tree information shows other families connected to the Jenkins family. They are Rideout, Sharp, Billett, Dowle, Clarke, Blattman, Ditton, Fletcher, Stuart, Herring, Sharp, Scholes, Waite/White, Corbett, Hilton and Fowler families.

Other NSW towns where the Jenkins children settled were Werombi, Camooweal (Qld), Glenmore, Petersham, Oakdale, Lidcombe, Gundagai, Charlestown, Cootamundra and Penrith.

The book published in 2012 is an A4 size hard cover white binder with 4 hole rings and has 547 pages.
